This Privacy Policy explains how PoseMatch ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app. PoseMatch is designed to work fully offline for its core functionality, and we collect the minimum data necessary to operate the app and, where enabled, show advertising.
Federico Caimi, an individual developer, is the data controller for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.

PoseMatch lets you pick a reference photo (chosen from your device's gallery) and use your camera to recreate a similar pose, with the reference shown as a live on-screen overlay. The final photo you save or share never contains the overlay burned into the image. All core functionality (choosing a reference photo, using the camera, saving or sharing your photo) works entirely offline and no image ever leaves your device through the App itself.
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand anonymized, aggregated usage patterns — for example, which screens are used, whether a photo was taken, saved, or shared, and whether an ad was shown. This data is tied to a randomly generated device/app instance identifier, not to your identity. You can disable analytics collection at any time from "Manage privacy consent" in the App (see Section 5).
If enabled, the App shows interstitial video ads via Google AdMob. To show ads (and personalized ads, where consented), AdMob and its partners may access advertising identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID (AAID) or Apple's IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers, only after you grant App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS), along with technical data such as device type, operating system, and general (non-precise) region. This data is processed by Google and its advertising partners according to their own privacy policies.
| Permission | Why it's needed |
|---|---|
| Camera | To let you take a photo matching your chosen reference pose. Used only while the camera screen is open; nothing is transmitted anywhere. |
| Photo library / gallery | To let you choose a reference image and to save your finished photo back to your device. |
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config) | Anonymized usage analytics; remote feature configuration | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Interstitial advertising | policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
A "Manage privacy consent" link is always available in the App's footer. Tapping it reopens the consent form at any time, letting you change your choices about personalized advertising and analytics — not just on first launch.
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads or collecting advertising-related data, via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), in line with GDPR requirements. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with similar privacy laws, you have the right to know what data is collected and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your data (which, for regulatory purposes, includes sharing advertising identifiers with AdMob for personalized ads). You can exercise this choice via the "US regulations" consent message shown in the App, or via "Manage privacy consent" in the footer at any time.
If you are located in Canada, the same consent mechanism described above applies, consistent with PIPEDA's requirements for informed consent and transparency.
If you are located in Brazil or another market where the App is available, we apply the same consent standard described in Section 5.2 as a general baseline.
PoseMatch is not directed at children under 13 and is not marketed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. In AdMob, the App is configured to serve non-child-directed content (tagForChildDirectedTreatment(false)). The minimum age to use the App is 13 years old.
On iOS, before using your advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized ads, the App shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency system prompt. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your IDFA.
Analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google's default retention settings and is not linked to your identity. We do not otherwise store any personal data on our own servers, since the App does not use any backend of our own.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any reference photo you import into the App (for example, copyright or image rights of photos not your own). See our Terms of Service for details.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
